Pearson Panke was established in 1954 by Harry Pearson and Gerard Panke for marketing the most advanced machines in the metal-forming field. Metal forming applications became a major part of the company's activities, a feature which has continued throughout the company's history.
In the 60's transfer presses underwent rapid development and Pearson Panke supplied presses ranging from 40-4000 tons press force with up to 14 stations. A mechanical press designed to form chassis beams for railway carriages, rated at 4000 tons, was then a world record.
Pearson Panke have supplied a range of machines for cold forging, where complex vehicle parts are formed to tight tolerances in a sequence of automatic forming operations. Two processes: Rotary Swaging and Spinning, for forming components requiring high strength such as drive shafts, steering components and pulleys from tubular rather than solid material, have been successful throughout industry.
Another first came in 1980, when Pearson Panke supplied the largest screw press. At 16000 tons with a 1400 kW drive it was used to forge large crankshafts in only one or two blows.
A feature of Pearson Panke's involvement in a project is the ability to provide solutions at all stages of the manufacturing cycle from the related ancillaries required in press shop applications, to the coating and decorating of finished components.
The range includes comprehensive test equipment for paints, coating materials and pressure sensitive adhesives.
Recent projects include a large stretch bend installation and mill refurbishment for stainless steel. Capsule making and decorating equipment to supply the whisky industry in Scotland. High precision leveler for Aluminium coil.
Five decades have passed since Pearson Panke began and they are still meeting present day demand. Pearson Panke work closely with their clients to provide the latest technology for today's competitive manufacturing markets, whilst ensuring standards are achieved for health, safety and the control of quality.
